The recent emergence of GPT4 jailbreaks that enable users to develop instructions on how to hack computers and researchers discovering workarounds for “non-technical” users to create malware and phishing emails has further emphasized the need for such initiatives.

However, it is important to note that the bug bounty program’s official page clearly states that issues related to the content of model prompts and responses are strictly out of scope, unless they have an additional directly verifiable security impact on an in-scope service. Therefore, the program may not be effective in addressing the wider security risks associated with generative AI and GPT-4 for society at large.
